93 Stoke Newington Church St

Countertalk is championing a different female chef once a month at the Good Egg in Stoke Newington. These industry focused dinners include a welcome drink, a snack and three courses. Our monthly guest chef will work alongside pastry chef and Countertalk founder Ravneet Gill to create a selection of desserts to be presented for the final course.

The third dinner will be cooked up by Anaïs Van Manen who has a wealth of culinary knowledge with a background stemming from Bones, Import Export CAM - Paris, Trullo, NUALA to name a few. Anaïs will be bringing guests a feast inspired by her Vietnamese heritage.

Before the dinner, guests will get a chance to listen to the chef’s story on why they became a chef and how. Whilst guests enjoy dessert they get a chance to speak directly to the chefs about anything ranging from their own experiences in the kitchen, business advice and their food.

The initiative behind these dinners ties in with Countertalk’s ongoing urge for the media to recognize and highlight the work carried out by female chefs.

Countertalk was created by chef Ravneet Gill, her own experiences as the only female chef in a kitchen of 35 and a lack of any formal mentorship have had a big influence on her career. Inspiring her to create a more equal and supportive environment to foster new talent.

Eat with us and find out more about Anaïs on the 12th of November.
