We are firing up our grills with one of the most exciting chefs from London.

Sertaç Dirik is the head chef and co-owner of Mangal II Restaurant from Dalston, London. Established in 1994 their father opened what would become a groundbreaking notion in introducing the ocakbaşı to the UK. 26 years later, Sertaç and his brother Ferhat decided to spend lockdown transforming their father’s classic ocakbaşı, realising their plans of over a decade in evolving it’s style into a more contemporary iteration of Turkish grill cooking; two years later the restaurant would enter the National Restaurant Awards at 35/100 best in the UK. 
Working with local farmers, fishermen and producers, Sertaç’s cooking celebrates the British seasons, preservation and waste-reduction whilst respecting the traditions, flavours and rules that classic Turkish cooking demands.
