Oyster shucking workshop
During this oyster workshop we will teach the skill of shucking (opening) oysters. A invaluable skill for anybody who loves seafood. We will be practising on wild pacific oysters from the Dutch Waddensea (crassostrea gigas). Two methods of safely opening oysters will be taught; one method from the back and other one from the side. Next to that we will explain about the myths regarding oysters seasons, how to recognize fresh oysters and how to best store oysters. This workshop will be taught in English.
For the duration of this workshop we will provide:
• An oyster knife
• A chainmail glove
• 5 oysters to practise ( if you want to practise on more oysters you will be able too purchase them at Küstlichkeiten stand)
• With attending this workshop, attendees agree doing this at their own responsibility and risk.
