Museum of the Home 136 Kingsland Road E2 8EA London
R A S A dining is an intimate and thoughtful dining experience inspired by a diversity of music, cultures & communities.
This dinner will look at ethical teas as an ingredient, inspiration and conversation starter. It always begins with a cup of tea. We will explore the conventions of traditions, communal dining & togetherness in new and inventive ways.
Join us on 31st March & 1st April at the newly rennovated Museum of the Home for our first event of 2023. Your ticket includes a tasting of five uniquely prepared, ethically-sourced teas to accompany a five course tasting menu comprised of seasonal, local and preserved foods.
31st March: Fixed menu (Veg menu optional)* 1st April: Fixed Menu (Veg menu optional)*
Team Our team for this dinner is made up of professional cooks and enthusiastic home cooks with the combined effort and goal to produce quality food. Ajay (staged at Silo) is an enthusiastic self-taught cook, but has been the research and steer for this collective. Johnnie (Silo, Pophams Bakery, Planque, Ikoyi) is a chef/ baker currently at Pophams. Farid a travelled home-cook who has learnt from many East Asian cultures about the processes of fermentation and looking at food through a medicinal lense.
Postcard Teas Over 20 years of tea travels have enabled Postcard Teas to introduce two key concepts to tea: provenance and small tea. Timothy D'Offay and team pioneered provenance back in 2008 when they became the first tea company in the world to put the maker’s name and location on all sourced 60 teas including the blends. More recently they introduced the idea of small tea which is sourced from producers who farm less than 15 acres. We will exclusively be using teas from Tim & the team for this series of events.
