Piquant presents the next intimate 8 seater supper club on Thursday the 16th of May. After spending much time in Mexico, learning from locals and taking classes in Yucatan, Oaxaca and Chiapas, I will be preparing a Mexican food menu with a twist from my own heritage, India/Bangladesh. Two thing these cuisines have in common are punchy flavors and chilies. The dessert has been inspired by Olga, my amazing host in Cuba, who gave me her recipe whilst I was there. Expect flavour explosions and as always all recipes are made from scratch where possible.

I will be getting fresh masa made with locally produced organic corn, from the guys at Tlaxcalli for the main course.

The menu is subject to change depending on the availability of ingredients. All the recipes are gluten free but have been prepared in a kitchen where there may have been some contact with gluten.

This is a BYOB event.


One welcome drink - Agua de Jamaica (Mexican hibiscus) with Cuban rum

Mains all made with fresh organic masa :-

Tamale - Chipotle mushrooms and Oaxaca cheese

Red tortilla with masala fish, charred pineapple salsa

Green tortilla with bombay potato topped with tamarind & date chutney, green salsa, natural yogurt and pomegranate seeds

Fenugreek tortilla - okra fries, sikil p'ak (roasted pumpkin seed salsa), pico de gallo

Blue tortilla - Fresh paneer cheese, guacachile, pickled red onions and coriander
