Daniel Patterson talks about the values, techniques and tools that inspired him and his team to reformulate his approach to hiring, managing, and nurturing staff development. You’ll learn from his experience at LocoL, the Cooking Project and Alta Group restaurants; and how he and his team have worked with non-profits to create systemic solutions to remove implicit bias in their workplaces. Daniel Patterson Chef and Founder, Alta Group Patterson is an American chef, restaurateur, and food writer. Patterson is also the co-founder of The Cooking Project, a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to teaching kids and young adults fundamental cooking skills. Most recently, Patterson has teamed up with Los Angeles chef Roy Choi to launch LocoL, a revolutionary fast-food chain that aims to supplant the fast-food chains and convenience stores that separate our youth from the taste of real food. Patterson has published several books, including two co-written with Mandy Aftel: Aroma and The Art of Flavor, as well as his cookbook Coi: Stories and Recipes.
