Katja has spent the last four years cooking at London’s Koya as head chef. She has studied under Shuko Oda, learning how to put her own spin on traditional Japanese dishes.
Koya is famous for its blackboard small plates, which Katja is constantly developing and changing to move with the seasons. She is passionate about finding the best produce, often foraging it herself, to complement the menu.
When she is not in the kitchen at Koya, she is cooking on boats for the Sailing Collective, meeting chefs, and collaborating around the world. And, in her spare time Katja looks after two beehives in her garden.
She feels that it is from these collaborative experiences that she grows most as a chef, and is excited to share this with the team at Slurp.
