Kicking off summer collaboration series, we are excited to announce a one-off Latin America-inspired asado feast alongside our good friends Ana Ortiz and Tom Bray from Firemade (FKA Country Fire Kitchen), as part of the Somerset Food Trail 2023.
Ana and Tom are becoming quite a formidable force on the Somerset food scene. Their company, Firemade, makes some of the most beautiful, hand crafted BBQs, grills and outdoor cooking equipment we've seen. They also regularly cook large-scale feasts for weddings, festivals and experiences in the region, across the country and beyond.
This event will draw upon Ana's Ecuadorian heritage with a menu inspired by latin American flavours using Somerset ingredients cooked entirely outdoors over fire. For the main, there will be lamb cooked 'a la cruz' - on a cross over smouldering embers for many hours until the meat is tender, lightly smoked and thoroughly delicious.
Our aim is to make this event as accessible as possible, so we have tried to keep the ticket price as low as possible, but we'll also be offering a supplementary course of hay-smoked clams and chorizo for those who want to indulge.
A vegetarian alternative menu will be available. Please let us know about other dietary requirements when booking and we'll try our best to accomodate them.
Please arrive at 6.30pm for a welcome drink. The feast will begin at 7 o'clock and we expect it to be wrapped up by 10.
Look forward to seeing you then!
