Casa Pastor: Enrique Olvera Kitchen Takeover - Tu Casa Mi Casa Launch
El Pastor
Wed 27 Mar 18.00 - Thu 28 Mar 22.30
Casa Pastor Coal Drops Yard N1C 4DQ London
On Wednesday 27th March, Casa Pastor, in collaboration with Phaidon, is excited to host Enrique Olvera, the world-renowned chef behind Mexico City’s Pujol and New York’s Cosme and Atla restaurants, as he cooks a special supper in celebration of his brilliant new book, Tu Casa Mi Casa: Mexican Recipes for the Home Cook.
Enrique and the Casa Pastor founders go back a long way. Sam Hart and Crispin Somerville were running their Mexico City nightclub, El Colmillo, in the ‘90s, when they met him on the dancefloor. He was in the process of setting up Pujol and had no idea of the Worlds 50 Best accolades and Netflix ‘Chef’s Table’ stardom lying ahead of him.
Tu Casa Mi Casa is Olvera’s first home cooking book, sharing 100 of the most beloved and popular dishes cooked throughout Mexico. These include international favourites, lesser-known specialities, and a core collection of recipes from Olvera’s personal repertoire.
At the supper, which falls on the day of the book’s international release, Enrique will serve a selection of his favourite recipes taken from it. These will include: Herbed Guacamole and chicharron/totopos; Hamachi and corn aguachile; Tacos de lengua; Tamalitos de broccoli; Barbacoa; Coffee custard.
Tickets are priced at £65 and include a welcome drink, the set menu and a signed copy of Tu Casa Mi Casa (Phaidon Press). Service and further drinks not included.
