Since opening last summer, Carousel has had some pretty experienced chefs through its doors, but Swiss-born Bjorn van der Horst takes the biscuit. Having learned his craft in the kitchens of titans Joël Robuchon and Alain Ducasse, Bjorn’s glittering resume boasts the likes of old school greats Picholine (New York), Gaia (Connecticut), The Greenhouse and La Noisette (London), where he helped bag a handful of Michelin stars.
After taking a break from the pots and pans to work on charity and development projects in Tanzania, Bali and Indonesia, he’s now ready to get back behind the pass, starting with two weeks at Carousel.
Bjorn will be showing the young guns how it’s done with an exciting menu of big flavored, family-style sharing plates.
