BRAZILIAN JAZZ NIGHT in Copenhagen Saturday July 7, 2018
We are so thrilled to welcome back our dear friend from Rio de Janeiro, vocalist and guitarist Daniel Rolim. He was featured on our Jazz Masterworks Series project “Getz/Gilberto” a total of three times over the past three years. The same goes for the remarkable Hungarian saxophone virtuoso from Budapest, Gabor Bolla. Both of these incredible artists were instrumental in making the Getz/Gilberto project one of our club’s most memorable, popular and successful projects ever. Aside from his wonderful vocal and guitar skills, Daniel Rolim also has a strong reputation as a deeply devoted ambassador of Brazilian music. His native country of course has one of the richest music traditions in the world, and nothing fills us with more sparkling joy than to experience Daniel sharing his favorite songs with relentless passion with all his audiences. For this particular project Daniel and Gabor have put together a selection of their top favorite Brazilian standard songs and arranged them for this exciting group which also comprises New York heavyweight Victor Jones, who is the former drummer of Mr. Bossa Nova himself – the one and only Stan Getz. To round of the group we are very happy to welcome back the great Brazilian bassist Romulo Duarte. And also appearing with the group this time is Daniel Rolim's beautiful wife and wonderful singer, Marta Freitas.
